Job Purpose

The Director, Business Intelligence will serve as a strategic partner to the Commercial organisation, ensuring that market, customer, patient, payer and competitive insights are translated into actionable business decisions that accelerate launch readiness and optimise commercial performance.
As MoonLake prepares for a major product launch in Dermatology, this individual will lead the business intelligence function, generating insights that inform brand strategy, go-to-market planning, market access, customer engagement, investment prioritisation and launch execution.
This role requires a proven launch professional with demonstrated experience supporting the successful pre-launch, launch and post-launch phases of a specialty pharmaceutical or biotechnology brand. The individual will integrate primary market research, secondary analytics, healthcare claims data, competitive intelligence to identify opportunities, anticipate risks and influence key commercial decisions.
Working closely with Marketing, Commercial Analytics, Market Access, the individual will ensure the organisation maintains a deep understanding of customers, market dynamics, marketing analytics and competitive developments throughout the launch journey.


Major Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute the Business Intelligence strategy to support launch readi-ness, commercial planning, and long-term brand growth.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative market research programmes to generate actiona-ble insights across HCPs, patients, payers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Translate insights into strategic recommendations that shape brand strategy, posi-tioning, segmentation, customer engagement, market access, and go-to-market de-cisions.
  • Build and maintain patient journey, customer segmentation, and market landscape frameworks to identify opportunities and barriers to adoption.
  • Lead competitive intelligence activities, proactively assessing market, clinical, ac-cess, and commercial developments and their implications for the brand.
  • Partner with Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, and Analytics teams to ensure insights are embedded into business planning and decision-making.
  • Develop launch readiness metrics and commercial KPIs, monitoring market dy-namics and brand performance to guide strategic actions.
  • Leverage primary research, secondary data, claims data, and analytics to under-stand prescriber behaviour, treatment patterns, patient flows, and market opportu-nities.
  • Identify new data sources, analytical approaches, and insight-generation opportu-nities that enhance commercial decision-making.
  • Lead vendor selection, market research partnerships, budget management, and project governance to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing key busi-ness and investment decisions.
  • Ensure all business intelligence activities are conducted in compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Your profile

Job Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor in Business, Science, Economics, Statistics, Life Sciences or equivalent
Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience delivering strategy and insights for Lifesciences industry
Skills/knowledge/behavioural competencies:
  • Ability to develop actionable customer insights
  • Marketing analytics
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in fast-paced launch environments
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, Data Visualization.
  • Basic coding literacy (e.g., SQL, python) desirable
